Medical Aesthetics Instructor

Requirements:

– Three years of teaching experience in the field OR five years of working experience in the field

– Diploma in Medical Aesthetics from a Canadian college or university

– English proficiency in reading, writing and speaking

– Customer service and sales experience is preferred (1-2 years)

– Valid G Class driver’s license and access to vehicle is preferred

– Weekend or evening availability to teach is preferred

Duties:

In addition to teaching duties, the Medical Aesthetics Instructor will also:

– track attendance of students and maintain student files

– Mark and record student grades

– Be an ambassador for the school and its programs to current, prospective and alumni students at all times

– Prepare and administer lesson plans, tests and assignments based on curriculum provided

– Collaborate with other team members to integrate new students into the class and provide and receive feedback

– Ensure classroom & clinic supplies are stocked at all times

– Maintain cleanliness in the classroom and clinics at all times

– Enforce and abide by school policies in the classroom

– Promote courses and work on social media in collaboration with other team members

– Supervise students on outreach trips or events

The teaching schedule will be at least 2-3 days a week. Class times are typically between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm or 10 am to 3 pm on weekdays or weekends. We prefer someone who is available to teach evenings and weekends.

Medical Aesthetics Instructor

Requirements:

– Certificate, diploma or degree in the discipline being taught from a recognized post-secondary institution

– At least two years of related industry experience

– Teaching experience

– Evidence of ongoing industry-related professional development

– Relevant industry skills and course content knowledge

– Ability to prepare for and teach the prescribed curriculum

– Ability to motivate and inspire students

– Ability to respond in a supportive and appropriate manner to the needs and capabilities of students

– Ability to provide feedback and treat students in a fair and equitable manner

– Ability to deliver online classes is a plus

Duties:

– Provide a detailed review of the course outline and assessment model to all students on the first day of class

– Provide instructional delivery that addresses course learning objectives and program outcomes

– Prepare lesson plans and supporting instructional materials to ensure effective lesson delivery

– Assess students to ensure that course objectives are being met

– Keep students informed of their academic progress

– Assist students when they are having difficulties

– Participate in the development and evaluation of curriculum and instructional materials

– Attend instructor meetings and professional development activities

– Complete required forms and records and submit them to the administration when required

– Participate in instructional performance reviews

– Submit attendance records as required

– Hand in final course grading spreadsheet(s) within five working days after the last day of class

– Deliver all scheduled classes and make up any classes that are missed

– Be knowledgeable of and compliant with all the college’s policies and procedures

– Engage with students, staff and instructors in a collegial and professional manner
